ABOUT ABOUT

Gold Discovery Food & Wine Tour of Nevada City explores hidden gem restaurants and eateries in one of California's oldest and most preserved Gold Rush mining towns, Nevada City. THIS CULINARY TOUR ADVENTURE IS A PRIVATE GROUP TOUR ONLY OFFERING.  WE DO NOT OFFER PUBLIC TOURS AT THIS TIME.  About a 1-hour drive from Sacramento, Nevada City is famed for its church steeples that rise above the Sierra foothills, homes that are registered with the Nevada County Historical Society. Wander through former gold assay offices, saloons, and foundries to find restaurants, wineries, and stores that maintain the look and character of the days when eager miners crowded the town, ready to find their fortune.

Come hungry! This tour is 'lode-ed' with delicious foods from the best cuisine Nevada City has to offer--savor the tastes as you hear the stories of the gold rush, from Nevada City's rough-hewn beginnings to today. We'll try award-winning wines and dish after dish of foods made from fresh, local produce -- tastes the likes of which miners could only dream of.

Private Group Tours can be booked in advanced through our event planning team.  Please call 1-800-407-8918 to learn more.  Private group sizes begin with a minimum of 8 per group.  We offer tour group sizes up to 14.  If we can accommodate larger group sizes we will....just ask!  Group discounted rates begin at 10 participants or more.  Advanced ticketing is required for this three hour, 1.5 mile gastronomic adventure. Participants must be able to walk the 1.5 miles; the route does include some moderately steep hills. The Gold Discovery Food & Wine Tour is offered 6 days a week with advanced booking.

Restrictions

The terrain on our Gold Discovery Food Tour is hilly terrain with a couple inclines we walk up. We do cover approximately 1.5 miles in distance in a 3 hour time frame. We do ask you keep up with the group during our entire 1.5 mile walk. You know your fitness level better than us. If you want to bring a child with you, please note that they are welcome but you know better than us if your child will be able to handle the distance walking as well as standing and listening without being disruptive to the rest of the tour group. Our tour route is not wheelchair accessible due to uneven pavements and curbside drops.
