Join us on a 3 hour guided culinary walking adventure that walks you through one of Northern California's most popular destinations. Learn what continues to make Sacramento a unique and delicious city, one taste at a time.
Explore tree-lined side streets, historical neighborhood districts with Italianate architecture and great restaurants all set within a beautiful Northern Sierras backdrop. On our three-hour food tour participants get an insiders look at the can't-miss eateries and restaurants that only the locals are lucky enough to know about-until now.
By touring the city on foot,whether a visitor or a resident of Sacramento,uncover the hidden gem restaurants and establishments that you just don't see driving by. Get tidbits of Sacramento's history while tasting the scrumptious foods that make Sacramento's culinary scene a regional treasure. Learn where our state politicians and local foodies dine. You'll taste farm fresh ingredients that inspire local chefs. Explore our beautiful mansions and their architectural history. Our tour will take you on a gastronomic adventure off the beaten path. We make sure our food tour has plenty of food for a lunchtime appetite. No small samples or bite size pieces....when we say food tour, we mean a true food tour!

Typical tastings on our tour:

Pan-Seared scallops with dungeness crab risotto and chili buerre blanc
Trendy Thai avocado curry with freshly made flat bread
Italian Frittata w/fresh mushrooms,spinach,and garlic
Local wine from selected Gold Country vineyard
Mint chocolate chip whoopie pie
Handmade ravioli stuffed with caramelized onions, mushrooms and balsamic glaze sauce
Hand-spun green tea ice cream
Fresh salmon and crab sushi roll
White chocolate and cranberry bread pudding with salted caramel sauce

Note: Dietary restrictions for food allergies will be noted for each food tasting.  Our stops try to accommodate for vegetarians and food allergies; however, food aversions such as Vegan and Gluten Free are harder to accommodate for every stop.  No special accommodations will be made for participants who just don't like the type of food being offered - please see type of food samplings above for an idea of what will be offered.  Please provide a local hotel or cell phone contact number on your reservation. There is limited bathroom breaks during the tour, so please use the facilities before joining up for the tour. The tours are held rain or shine. You should dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions. Cameras and video cameras are allowed. We ask everyone to turn their cell phones on vibrate prior to tour starting in respect of other tour participants wanting limited distractions. We require a minimal of 4 participants per tour. We will contact individuals prior to tour date if they are the single ticket holder for a particular tour.

Restrictions

The terrain on our City of Trees Food Tour is all flat with many shade trees. We do cover approximately 2.5 miles in distance in a 3 hour time frame. We do ask you keep up with the group during our entire 2.5 mile walk. You know your fitness level better than us. If you want to bring a child with you, please note that they are welcome but you know better than us if your child will be able to handle the distance walking as well as standing and listening without being disruptive to the rest of the tour group. Our tour route is wheelchair accessible. Strollers are welcome. Our stops try to accommodate for vegetarians and food allergies; however, food aversions such as Vegan and Gluten Free are harder to accommodate for every stop.
